Why Families Choose Kam Yin

A Place That Feels Like Belonging

Unhurried Pace

The rhythm here follows the resident, not a printed timetable. Mornings can be quiet. Afternoons can be busy. Neither is ever wrong.

Cantonese Culture at the Centre

Opera afternoons, mahjong tables, festival meals — the traditions that shaped a lifetime are honoured here, not set aside.

Non-Medical, Truly Social

Kam Yin is a lifestyle community, not a care facility. The focus is companionship, engagement and comfort — not clinical routines.

Everything Under One Roof

Rooms, meals, housekeeping, laundry, social groups and studio sessions all sit in one building — nothing to organise separately.

Well-Connected Location

38 Lung Cheung Road is straightforward to reach by MTR and bus, making family visits easy and the rest of Kowloon close at hand.

Garden Space and Fresh Air

A shared garden area gives residents somewhere to sit, stroll or tend a small corner of growing things — a simple pleasure that matters more with time.

Would You Like to Come and See?

Common Questions

Things Families Often Ask

Is Kam Yin a medical or nursing facility?
No. Kam Yin is a non-medical lifestyle community. We do not provide nursing care, clinical support or medication management. We are designed for older adults who live independently and want companionship, cultural engagement and a comfortable, well-arranged home environment.
Can I try the Companion Circles or Studio before committing to a full plan?
We encourage prospective residents and their families to visit and join a session as a guest first. This makes it much easier to judge whether the atmosphere feels right. Contact us and we will arrange a suitable time.
What are the monthly fees and what do they cover?
Companion Circles begin at HK$960 per month. The Cultural & Recreation Studio is HK$2,140 per month. The full Residence & Lifestyle Plan, which covers the furnished room, housekeeping, laundry and all meals, is HK$3,720 per month. Plans can be combined or adjusted during a conversation with our team.
What language is used in daily life at Kam Yin?
Cantonese is the primary language at Kam Yin, which reflects the background of most residents. English is also spoken by staff and is always welcome. Cultural programming — opera, calligraphy, storytelling — is rooted in Hong Kong and southern Chinese tradition.
How easy is it for family to visit?
Very easy. The residence is at 38 Lung Cheung Road, a short walk from Wong Tai Sin MTR station. Family members are welcome at any reasonable hour and can join a meal or an afternoon activity if they would like to share the experience with their relative.
Is there a minimum stay or long contract?
We work on monthly arrangements. We do not ask for lengthy commitments upfront. Our aim is that residents stay because they genuinely wish to, not because they are bound to a contract. Notice periods and any terms are discussed openly before a resident moves in.
